UA and APi Group Construction Center

The Construction Center completes multiple projects throughout the day to benefit JA BizTown - building items for JA BizTown, designing and constructing a model of a new building using construction process and design, and investigating alternative energy options.

  • Signs Rental Agreement for business space
  • Supervises employees and oversees business operations
  • Signs all business payroll and expense checks
  • Works with the Superintendent to plan the Safety Meeting
  • Prepares and gives speech at Opening Town Meeting
  • Assists with all business duties when employees are on break

CFO

  • Inputs and submits business loan to the bank
  • Inputs employee payroll information
  • Prints and distributes employee payroll checks
  • Signs payroll checks if CEO is not available
  • Pays online bills sent to business
  • Keeps all records of business expenses and payment
  • Makes business deposits to Bank

SUPERINTENDENT

  • Reviews project plans for the production stations
  • Collaborates with the GF and Mechanic on the project plan
  • Updates project status
  • Leads the Job Site Meeting (JSA) with the Safety Inspection Tech
  • Plans work to meet productivity goals
  • Prepares and sends billing for JA Staff for projects completed

GENERAL FOREPERSON

  • Works with City Hall to obtain appropriate permit signatures
  • Works with Mechanic to ensure timely project completion
  • Assists Mechanic with project completion
  • Notifies JA BizTown staff when projects are completed
  • Catalogs parts and materials used to reconcile the materials/consumables budget

MECHANIC/JOURNEYPERSON

  • Completes projects safely and efficiently
  • Organizes and lays out a job site in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensures that everyone on site follows all safety rules and protocols
  • Works in accordance with the projects plans
  • Produces a high-quality product on time and on budget

SAFETY INSPECTION TECH

  • Implements a safety plan and ensure that everyone follows it
  • Leads a daily safety brief with all employees
  • Performs daily safety audit
  • Inspects the JA BizTown site at large and ensure life safety system compliance
  • Inspects project sites to monitor progress and safety
