We’re a 2025 Bank of America Neighborhood Builder!

MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA — Bank of America names Junior Achievement North as one of its Twin Cities 2025 Neighborhood Builders® for its work in the fields of education and preparing local students for success. Bank of America’s signature Neighborhood Builders program is one of the nation’s largest philanthropic investments into nonprofit leadership development while providing unique multiyear flexible funding and robust leadership development annually to high-impact nonprofits nationwide.

As a recipient, Junior Achievement North was awarded a $200,000 grant over two years, comprehensive leadership training for the organization’s executive director and an emerging leader, and access to a national network of nonprofit peers.

Celebrating its 10th year of operations in Minnesota, Bank of America has awarded 20 Twin Cities nonprofits the Neighborhood Builders award, investing more than $4 million in philanthropic capital into these nonprofits.

“Our network of local nonprofits is crucial to addressing challenges in the Twin Cities," said Lucas Giambelluca, president, Bank of America Twin Cities. “Through flexible funding and comprehensive leadership training, the Neighborhood Builders program empowers Junior Achievement North to further promote economic competency and opportunity for young people in our communities and bolster their own leadership capabilities.”

Junior Achievement North equips students with the confidence and skills necessary to prepare for their future careers. Most notably, the JA BizTown program, a simulated city, gives youth the chance to participate in a mock economy and build financial skills. This new grant funding will strengthen leadership training for educators and expand program delivery to reach 10,000 additional underserved students in rural and inner-city communities, directly addressing the local issue of career readiness equity.

"We are immensely proud to be named a Bank of America Neighborhood Builder, recognizing the power of our work in shaping future leaders,” said Sara Dziuk, president and CEO of Junior Achievement North. “This grant, coupled with the essential leadership training, will directly fuel our mission: It will allow us to strengthen our educator training and significantly expand our JA BizTown program."

Neighborhood Builders is part of the bank’s longstanding efforts to build thriving communities by addressing issues fundamental to economic opportunity. Since 2004, Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders program has invested more than $346 million in communities across the U.S. and trained more than 4,000 leaders at nearly 2,000 U.S. nonprofits.
