Established in 1949, the Minneapolis and St. Paul chapters of Junior Achievement merged in 1982 to create Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest, Inc. (JAUM). In September of 2021, we changed our name to Junior Achievement North to align with our vision. This name is about more than a geographic footprint; it represents a compass point to guide our work. We’re ready to move boldly move forward with our innovative and accessible service model designed to impact students from kindergarten through high school.
Junior Achievement North focuses on empowering students across our entire region and ensuring that opportunities are accessible as we work across Minnesota, North Dakota, and western Wisconsin. To meet the needs of students, we will continue to offer in-person, hands-on experiences while also continuing our investment in virtual programming to expand accessibility.
Each year we partner with more than 10,000 community volunteers to teach our programs to local students. Through age-appropriate curricula, Junior Achievement programs teach children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers, and prepare students to succeed in school and beyond.
