Ways to Volunteer

JA volunteers inspire and prepare students to succeed in school, life, and a global economy. By sharing your energy and experiences, you serve as a role model to help them envision a successful future.

Our opportunities are flexible and rewarding. Your commitment could vary from a single classroom visit to a weekly one-hour visit for five to eight weeks. Volunteer individually, or volunteer as a group with friends, family, coworkers, or as a civic group.

Junior Achievement North currently offers both in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities. We’ll work with you to find the opportunity that’s right for you and our amazing students. Explore opportunities below by clicking the buttons and contact us for more information.

Volunteer in the Classroom
Classroom volunteers lead JA lessons in a single day, or in weekly sessions over a 5-8 week period. JA programs are found in classrooms across all JA North areas, from kindergarten to twelfth grade. We have both in-person and virtual volunteer opportunities available. JA staff will work with you to find the right program and classroom match. Click here!

Volunteer in the Capstone Learning Lab (JA Biztown or JA Finance Park)
Students in fourth through twelfth grade come to the JA experiential learning labs for a one-day interactive learning experience. Volunteers assist students as they are adults for the day, working jobs and managing finances in a real-life simulation. This is an in-person volunteer opportunity at JA North’s St. Paul headquarters. Click here!

Volunteer with JA LaunchU!
Mentor young entrepreneurs as they launch, manage, and operate a start-up company through this JA after-school program for high school students. This opportunity is perfect for entrepreneurs that want to pass on their knowledge to the next generation. Students meet at JA North’s St. Paul headquarters and/or over Zoom. In-person and virtual volunteer opportunities available as a one-time presenter or on-going industry mentor. Click here!

Host a JA Job Shadow
Volunteers serve as role models as high school students visit your place of employment. Students will learn the day-to-day operations and explore the different career opportunities at the company. A typical visit on-site is four hours. Schedules are customizable based on the company’s needs. Click here!

Virtual Volunteering Opportunities
Become a virtual JA volunteer and connect with elementary, middle, or high school students virtually. Share your knowledge and expertise in a recorded video that JA North educators will use to enhance their JA lessons; or interact live with students via a video conferencing platform. Click here!
