JA Launch Lesson

Nick Kramarczuk of Kramarczuk’s Sausage Company leads a Launch Lesson at Edison High School in Minneapolis

JA Launch Lesson is an inspirational one-hour experience designed to be led by entrepreneurs or business professionals that explores entrepreneurship, careers, and highlights the opportunities, challenges, and preparation required for successful participation in the global economy and the workforce. Volunteers share with students their experience and expertise as entrepreneurs or career professionals.

Volunteers go into local classrooms for one hour during the week to share their experience with students. The program is designed to be simple for the volunteer to implement, but impactful for the teens participating. For example, during the JA experience, students can learn how to create a business plan, learn about specific careers and the education required to obtain them, or how to successfully apply for a job.

We are recruiting volunteers and schools to participate in this program throughout the school year. In response to the COVID-19 guidelines, we are offering JA Launch Lesson as a virtual opportunity. Volunteers interested in serving as role models, or teachers and youth workers interested in inspiring their students, please contact Suzanne Johnson at Suzanne.Johnson@janorth.org.
